The course, 4.2 miles with 750 feet of climb, is intended for the intermediate or above mountain biker. However, the descent is non-technical. Anyone willing to push up some steep climbs (or hike a bike if necessary) and with moderate descending experience should be able to ride!
Registration includes a 1, 2 and 3 lap option, with separate scoring for juniors within each.
Registration is $35 and includes racing, camping, water and support
The venue, located on private land in Brazos, New Mexico, overlooks the beautiful Brazos cliffs, winding through 200 acres of pine, scrub oak, and meadow. Ample camping spots are available the night before and after the race (August 9 and 10), with potential fun the night of the 10th dependent on expected turnout (movie, music, etc). More info to come.
Bathroom facilities and potable water will be available, and lunch and cookies will be available for purchase on the race day.
The venue is accessible through well maintained dirt road off of Fishtail Road. Detailed directions will be sent out closer to the race to all registered participants, and volunteers will be available to direct traffic.
The venue will be open from 9am, August 9th to 12pm, August 10th.
